“I grew up Catholic and always believed in God, but church was always just something that I did, and looking back, I don't think I had a real connection. When I went to college, church was the last thing on my mind, because I was a nervous wreck. I made some friends, and they started inviting me to Living Fatih. I said no for the longest time, but I finally started going a month or so before school ended. Things immediately felt different, and I learned what it was like to have an actual relationship with God and live in community. People were very welcoming, and I learned that people who I didn't even know were praying for me before I started coming to church. God blessed me in so many ways, and I was able to grow in my faith, my friendships, and my community. Through God, I went from being a lonely college student who hated being away from home, to making Indy my home.”

“I joined Living Faith during my freshman year at IUPUI in 2013. When I came to college, I knew I wanted to find a church community, if for nothing more than the consistency of a Sunday service. Me and Julie, who I knew from high school, checked out a few local churches. To this day, we still don’t entirely know how we came across Living Faith. At the time, church services were happening in the campus center theater. To me, it seemed the most convenient since neither of us had a car. Honestly, I was a little taken aback by the community that greeted me, but I soon realized how genuine of a family Living Faith actually was
I continued to come for a while because Julie was, but I slowly began to open up and let people in. By the time my uncle died suddenly in a car crash in the spring of my freshman year, I knew I could make it through with God and the community of believers he had blessed me with.
I’ve continued to grow since being here. I started being discipled by Zorina in 2014, and I have seen God move in amazing ways since then. I made the decision to be baptized in 2017 and soon started leading worship and leading Kids Ministry. God has done amazing thing after amazing thing and has continued to fight battles alongside and ahead of me. I am incredibly thankful for the amazing community of believers that God has blessed me with at Living Faith, and I’m excited to see how God continues to grow this family.”

“I had only visited a few churches when I stumbled upon Living Faith. It didn’t take long for me to call this church my home. I remember that even on my first time at Living Faith, people were so eager to greet me and get to know me. I really felt wanted and included right from the start.
On a whim, I decided to go on Living Faith’s fall retreat. I made friends, I met boys, and I had fun… but that in itself is not what kept me coming to Living Faith. What kept me coming to Living Faith was that on that fall retreat, It felt a like a fire had reignited inside of me. I was reminded that my purpose in college wasn’t to have fun or to get good grades or even prepare for my future job- my purpose in college was to serve Jesus.
At this point, I knew that I had found a church home. I wanted to stay in that place where it felt like my soul lit up every time we prayed or worshipped or talked about Jesus.”

“A girl in my class had invited me to her life group one Tuesday evening. I had previously been in another student organization small group on campus, but was still attending my church back home on Sundays because I lived an hour away. Whenever I started coming to life group here, it was more than just a discussion about the sermon I missed that Sunday. I continued to see the people that went to my life group on campus and would be invited to study, get coffee, or go to different events outside of class with them. They invited me into their lives more, and as our friendships grew they would start to ask me deeper questions about my life and invite me into those parts of theirs as well.
So after going to that life group for a year I finally moved to closer to IUPUI and started to attend the Sunday worship service. When I walked into the auditorium I knew the people from my life group, but even the people I didn’t know were very friendly. After each service, we would go out to dinner and get to know each other better. That same feeling came through: that I was more than just a girl who attended the church service on a Sunday evening… they invited me into their lives and I eventually invited them, fully, into my life as well. To this day, I share my greatest triumphs and greatest heartbreaks with some of the most truly loving and genuine people I have ever known and they consistently point me back to Jesus every moment they can. but I stayed for their handsome worship leader lol”
